We build the hardware we wanted to buy.
ByrdByte makes premium accessories for people who actually work on a MacBook — starting with Case X, an ultra-thin attachable SSD hub that puts up to 4 TB of fast NVMe storage and six essential ports where you need them.
The modern laptop got thinner every year and gave a little back every year — a port here, some storage there, another dongle to lose. We got tired of paying the “storage tax” and carrying a bag of adapters, so we built the thing we couldn’t buy: a single, beautifully made unit that adds real storage and real connectivity without the clutter.
Case X is 9 mm thin and 220 g light, milled from a single block of aerospace-grade aluminum, with USB4 running up to 3,500 MB/s. It attaches to your MacBook and disappears into your workflow — no software to install, no account to sign into, no monthly fee to reach your own files.
We’re a hardware company with a simple bias: fewer, better things, made to last. That’s the whole company in one sentence.
Hardware-first
No dongles, no clutter, no subscription to use your own storage. We build physical things that earn a permanent spot on your desk — and then we get out of your way.
Designed in Palestine
Engineered for serious workflows and built to a standard we would pay for ourselves. Where a product comes from is part of what it stands for.
Built to last
Milled from recycled aerospace-grade aluminum through zero-emission manufacturing, backed by a real warranty. Fewer, better things — kept for years, not replaced every season.
